This website is a child-friendly website which has delightful animated songs, mathematics, and reading activities for children from pre-k to 2nd grade. On the home page of this website one will find 4 categories on the left hand side of the page: ABCs, Learn to Read, It’s Fun to Read, I’m Reading. On the right hand side of the page one will find 3 more categories which are mathematics , reading and songs.  This website includes a variety of games for children to learn basic concepts: such as addition, subtraction, shapes numbers as well as letters and colours. Starfall is one of the websites which I tend to use a lot in the classroom.

Make a Christmas Tree!

By clicking on the picture you will be redirected to the website abcya. Today, during free play, the children played a number of different Christmas games on this website. One of them was ‘Make a Christmas Tree’-the children had to click and drag the ornaments, decorations and gifts to decorate their Christmas tree. This website is specifically designed for young children. It allows users to browse through and play a wide range of educational games. These activities are centred towards fostering the children’s language, numeracy and problem-solving skills. Therefore, children are able to enhance their cognitive abilities while playing games.

Snowflake Match!

Snowflake Match game taught the children the concept of symmetry. First, they have to choose a half of a snowflake and then place it to the other half that matches it. They learned that symmetry is when you have a half and the other half looks exactly the same. By clicking on the picture you will be redirected to the website PBS KIDS. In this website you will be able to find this game and a wide variety of other educational games, including maths, science, etc. 

Christmas Puzzles

All the children in the classroom love puzzles!
By clicking on the picture you will be redirected to the website Jigsaw Planet. I tend to use this website a lot in the classroom, especially during free play. Through turn-taking, each child will be given the opportunity to choose and solve the puzzle on the interactive white board.
